8 months – 5 years

Andover • Morristown

In this class we will explore music in many different ways. The studio room is fully padded with colorful gym mats and filled with balls, drums, and several different musical instruments which children are free to explore throughout the class.

Husband and wife teacher pair Andy and Trish Gruswitz will guide the children through various activities including singing, dancing, rhythm games while your children interact with other babies and children.

Miss Trish is a professional classical musician that will be guiding the children through live music, and they will explore many different instruments and even some music theory and history.

Mr. Andy is the educator/puppeteer/singer-songwriter, providing much of the entertainment with interactive puppet shows and original children’s songs.

About our Tot Class

Our philosophy for teaching babies and toddlers music is based on the belief that these little people naturally learn music just the same as they learn language: through repetition, bonding with parents, playing, and incorporating it into the daily routine. We believe that our curriculum is in improvement of some of the other toddler programs out there that we have studied. We incorporate such a wide age span intentionally because having had two children ourselves, we see both the value of learning things a bit beyond your age limits through the example of children just a little bit older. Our second child picked up countless things way earlier than the first because she thinks she can do anything her big sister can do. On the other hand, there is much to gain for the older kids in being an example and also having a chance to reinforce lessons they have learned in the past. It is a family bonding event that everyone enjoys, and we have a lot of fun, learning about things like tempo, scales, rhythm, and growing closer to each other at the same time.

How to sign up

If you click on the calendar button on the right side bar you’ll see our calendar that is hosted by Meetup.com. When you click on the time and place that works for you, you will see more information about that particular class. If you don’t already have an account with Meetup.com, then you can click on the “Join Us!” link and create your own profile. Once you’re a member of meetup.com, then you can be a member of our meetup group. Once you’re a member of our meetup group, you’ll be able to come to your first free trial class and then RSVP for each class you come to thereafter.

We have you RSVP for each one so that we’re sure not to have too many children for our space, and so that we know who to notify in case there are any changes.

If none of the times listed work for you, please let us know! As our classes gain more attention from the parents in your area and we have to accommodate more demand, we will add more classes, and we will do so according to the times requested.

Cost

We hope you’ll come by for a complimentary first lesson! At the end of that lesson we will offer you an opportunity to receive 10% off a ten class pass if you sign up the same day. The ten class pass can be used any time with no expiration. The total cost for ten classes is $180.

We also offer additional free classes to you for every friend you bring to class! So spread the word! Tell people about us on facebook, twitter, your local playdate group, or your place of worship!

Private Parties

We do now also offer private parties for children 8 months to 5 years old. The entertainment runs something like a “best of the tot-classes”. Parent participation is preferred, and we have some requests from party organizers that will make the experience better for everyone. Please call for a quote!
